The Australian Profibus Association will be hosting accredited Profibus training courses around Australia commencing March 2007. Profibus technology offers numerous benefits in factory and plant automation, but problems can be experienced by incorrect cabling, configuration or terminations. With Certified Installer and Maintenance training, such problems can be avoided at the outset rather than after the installation is complete.
Two internationally recognised Profibus courses - Installer course (Certified) and Maintenance and Fault Finding course (not Certfied) - will be conducted across Australia by Andy Verwer, Principal Lecturer, Department of Engineering and Technology at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK.
The Certified Profibus Installer Course is an internationally-accredited one-day course and covers the layout, installation and testing of Profibus networks. Course intake is limited to 6-12 people per group and is suitable for all engineers and technicians involved in the planning and installation of Fieldbus networks. The course focuses on Profibus and no previous knowledge of fieldbus systems is required. The course dates are: March 19 and 20, 2007 (Perth); March 26 and 27, 2007 (Melbourne); March 30 and April 2, 2007 (Brisbane).
The Profibus Maintenance Technician Course is a one-day add-on course to the Profibus Installer Course. It covers the practical techniques of faultfinding on operational Profibus networks. Participants must have a good understanding of the types of systems faults that can occur and their causes. Course dates are: March 21, 2007 (Perth); March 28, 2007 (Melbourne); April 3, 2007 (Brisbane), and it is strongly recommended that the Installer course precedes the Maintenance course.
The course fee includes a full set of notes, lunch and all refreshments and a Certified Installers certificate. The local Australian Profibus Training website www.profibustraining.com contains further information on the course content, costs, venue, dates and booking information.
