Precise control of silicate SiO2 protects the turbine

The concentration of silicate in the feed-water of steam generators needs to be monitored as the steam running through the turbine has to be very clean. An inadequate silicate dosage leads to the destruction of turbine blades, increased maintenance and plant downtime. Removing silicate parts with chemicals or mechanical processes can cost you valuable time and resources.

Analyzing silicate keeps you aware of potential harmful concentrations in the water-steam turbine cycle. This allows you to avoid costly delays in start-up resulting from having to test sample batches manually.

Silicate analysis is required at several points: high pressure and low pressure turbine steam, drum steam, CEP discharge, make-up water, drum water.
