Did you know? No tools needed
A flat-pack, solar-powered shelter assembled tool free in approximately 4hrs could improve lives?
The shelters, known simply as Refugee Housing Units, are the result of a joint project between the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Ikea Foundation. When the partnership was announced, many wondered whether the Swedish furniture giant could apply its principles of low-cost, easy-to-assemble design to emergency shelters.
Recalibration without tools
Measurement points in the Food+Beverage / Pharmaceutical industries are usually subject to continuous control. In order to identify any characteristic drift due to aging of the sensor element the thermometers need to be periodically recalibrated. The effort for these reference measurements is enormous. For this the removal and installation of the complete measurement insert is required – a time consuming procedure which involves the danger of wiring errors.
The new, dividable neck tube iTHERM® QuickNeck allows a tool free removal of the insert for calibration purposes – a quarter turn at the terminal head is sufficient to divide the thermometer into 2 parts. Thus the insert can be pulled out of the thermowell and can be used for an in-situ calibration. Apart from the significant time savings compared to the otherwise time and labour intensive removal, both potential wiring errors are excluded as well as plant downtimes are minimized.

Reduction of down times
Higher process safety through avoidance of wiring errors
